The true meaning of Christmas? – ART | The Silence | David White Photography

by David White

Welcome to 2012. Now this was initially meant for a December 2011 post, but time got away from me. Actually, I think I prefer it being the first post of the new year. Maybe if we make the truth of this the foundation for 2012, this year will be a little different. One can hope right?

Like the weight of eternity bearing down, silence fell. Crushing hopes like 400 years of empty. Stories that almost were but never finished. It’s like the narrative of creation dropped off at the most important…

Hope lived in the minds of the faithful gatherers of the word and readers of scripture said there would be a messiah a deliverer a king a warrior a child?

Could the Impossible become certain? The Omnipresent occupy one place? The Famous became unknown? The Perfect become Man? The creator become created? The timeless enter time? The Eternal be born? The All Powerful become powerless?

Could? God? Become? Man?

And in the middle of an unknown night, a lonely cry broke the silence of heaven.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
